We spend a lot of time upfront to really listen to and hear what our clients have to say. We have over a decade of experience successfully designing bespoke balconies and terraces for owners of premium condominiums.

Our process to create a custom Design Concept is all about personal interaction, and unfolds in five steps.

1. We start by guiding our clients to explore and express their vision for the space through a Starter Session consultation. We’ll discuss their lifestyle, preferences, and functional needs.

2. The Starter Kit questionnaire gives them a chance to take a little more time to further explore their “Dreams, Needs and Options” and share details of what they want, need and even things they may be concerned about.

3. Based on the input we receive, our design experts craft a unique design solution that aligns with our clients’ goals—whether it’s a peaceful sanctuary, a stylish entertaining space, or a lush garden retreat.

4. We review the draft Design Concept (which includes suggestions for materials, finishes, furniture and other components) and listen to their response. Our goal is to offer a Design Concept that includes everything they are hoping for .

5. Finally we develop a realistic “Order of Magnitude” budget for the project - well before any thing is purchased! - a that is accurate to +/- 25% of the final cost of the installed upgrade.

Through this multi-step process, we ensure that every detail reflects their individual taste and style.

With a focus on interaction with our clients, our process for creating a personal Design Concept is anything but cookie cutter. It typically takes 6 to 8 weeks from the initial consultation to the final design concept delivery, with smaller spaces taking less time than a larger space.

That’s a great reason to give this gift now! A January start can mean their project is ready to move forward to approvals in late winter, bringing installation in time for the Summer of 2025 within reach.

These important steps are not included with Design Magic

• Preparing and submitting application documents to your Condo Corporation/Strata Council for approval

• Any legal or engineering reviews required by the Condo Corporation/Strata Council

• More than one revision to the Design Concept, including changes in materials and components

• Additional 3D renderings of the final design, or copies of the Design Brief

• Preparation of detailed technical drawings required for fabrication, construction and installation.

• Obtaining quotes for all materials, components, services and labour

• Preparation of a final budget

• More than one revision to the Master Plan

• Purchasing and delivery of materials and components

• Project Management and Scheduling for fabrications and installation of final design

All of these essential services can be outsourced to the supplier of your choice, or are available through Garden Connections, following the completion of your Design Concept.

An exceptional balcony or terrace of more than 700 sf (65 sm) offer many more lifestyle opportunities and therefore will take more time both to explore the possibilities and create the Design Concept.

For spaces larger than 700 sf, add $500 for every 100 sf.
